Introduction: The new coronavirus emerged in the city of Wuhan, China, and quickly spread to several countries, being considered a pandemic. This disease leads to several symptoms that are usually aggravated in people who have some type of comorbidity and/or are immunosuppressed, such as people living with HIV/AIDS. Objective: To evaluate in the scientific literature the outcome and clinical characteristics of people with HIV when co-infected with SARS-CoV-2. Methods: An integrative review of studies published in the PubMed and LILACS databases on March, 2021 was performed. 127 studies were identified; out of these 16 articles were included for analysis. Demographic and clinical data of 616 patients were collected and stored into Microsoft® Office Excel 2016 software; therefore, continuous variables were summarized using mean and standard deviation and categorical variables, by frequency and percentage. Results: Of the total number of individuals included in the study; 82.6% of the participants were male and 51.6% had some type of comorbidity; in addition, 84.6% had some type of symptom related to COVID-19. Despite this, 66% were using antiretrovirals, and 87% had a CD4+T lymphocyte count greater than 200 cells/µL. Furthermore, the clinical picture of COVID-19 ranged from mild to moderate in 77% of patients; mostly (96.6%) evolved to cure. Conclusion: The clinical outcome of HIV/SARS-CoV coinfected patients is favorable, as more than 90% of participants evolved to cure, even those who had some type of associated comorbidity and/or showed clinical symptoms of the disease.
